ERIC SWANSON BAND BIO:
The Eric Swanson Band is a St. Petersburg, Florida–based collective rooted in soulful songwriting, rich harmonies, and a laid-back blend of Americana and reggae. At the center is Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Eric Swanson, whose voice—distinctive, honest, and deeply expressive—sets the tone for the band’s sound.
Swanson has written more than 400 original songs and draws inspiration from artists like Johnny Cash and Bob Marley, shaping a style that feels coastal without being conventional. “I didn’t see the ocean until later in life,” Swanson says. “So my take on beach and reggae music always came from a different place.”
The band features an all–star lineup of musicians from St. Petersburg, FL, including Grammy Award Winner Ken Brownell (SOJA), Cody Moore (The Hip Abduction), Beaush Feaster (The Dub Collectors), Bryan Smith, and Ryan Chamblee—each bringing their own history, groove, and musical depth to the project. Together, they create a sound that is warm, expansive, and grounded in feel-good rhythm with thoughtful lyrical weight.
In 2021, Swanson released the solo EP Horizons, featuring members of Slightly Stoopid, Passafire, SOJA, Anberlin, and more. That same year, he co-wrote two songs (and performed on one) for SOJA’s Grammy-winning album Beauty In The Silence. His music has since been featured across major broadcast and cable networks for both commercial and dramatic use.
In 2024, The Eric Swanson Band released the single “Medicine” on Stoopid Records, the first offering from the forthcoming record The Way We Were. The song explores the healing power of music—an idea that sits at the heart of the band’s mission.
In 2025, The Eric Swanson Band released the single “You Are Not Alone” on Stoopid Records. At its core, “You Are Not Alone” is a soulful Americana ballad that reminds us, through raw emotion and honest storytelling, that even in our darkest moments, we are never truly alone — because vulnerability is what connects us all.
“This road never ends,” Swanson says. “I’m just happy to be on it. Hope to see y’all out there.”
